Harnessing Responsible AI Strategies for Education Business and Government Policies

In November 2022, OpenAI launched ChatGPT. It became the fastest-adopted technology in the world. AI has become part of our lives since then, alongside its benefits and disadvantages. These factors depend on how a person uses the AI tools available and how that can affect others. Some of the problems that have been noted with AI tools are companies have laid off workers, the government still has to revise what AI policies should be employed, and Education has been affected by the number of students giving their work to AI.
The Education Sector:

Students have been tempted to take shortcuts when working on homework. A few have decided to take the lazy route and give their assignment to a machine instead of working on it themselves. To solve this issue, educational institutions use software that determines whether a student has used AI in work. However, this isn’t the best solution to the problem since the software can be faulty.
A University of North Georgia student was falsely accused of using AI to write her paper and given a zero because she used Grammarly, a tool to improve a person’s grammar. It’s not wrong to utilize this tool in assignments, people can learn from their mistakes being fixed in real-time. Many companies have acquired Grammarly as an aid for communication and productivity. Therefore, blaming students for using it can’t be the best route.
AI is still relatively new when it comes to the new ways people use it to be lazy. Software is bound to make mistakes. Institutions can’t rush to conclusions and accuse their students. They should be able to fight their case so they won’t get jeopardized when they’ve tried their best.
Business' Responsibility In the Job Market:
While AI can bring shortcuts to cooperation, those shouldn’t come at the expense of someone’s job. AI will continue to exist alongside the working man. However, the company is responsible for investing in employee training and development with new technology. Offering training on how to use AI to facilitate and bring efficiency to their work benefits both the employer and the employee. Companies shouldn’t be quick to replace people’s jobs with AI because this technology, like any other, has its faults, easily fixed by the human eye.
I'm a tech writer and people keep saying AI is going to replace me. I'm sure they're correct, because
management doesn't understand why my work
matters. (Sarah Boyle 2025)
Employees aren’t the sole group of people a business should consider when using AI. Its customers and stakeholders should be on the company’s mind when introducing their products and services to the market.

When delivering a product or service a company can’t solely rely on AI because that doesn’t provide the customer with a quality product. Customers usually can discern between human and AI work because the latter sometimes can look eerie or doesn’t make sense. A dissatisfied customer can end up with the stakeholders not gaining back the money they invested in an idea they deemed solid. Therefore, it’s crucial for the company to communicate to its stakeholders about their AI implementation, and not to forget to give pieces of work a human touch.
Governmental:
The US is on the side of innovation, which implies they can see how advantageous AI can be. However, this doesn’t mean they are oblivious to how it can affect the common person’s life.
Republicans and Democrats alike have concerns about the impact of AI on the job market. People have lost to ChatGPT when it comes to producing articles such as this, and artists have had their art replicated by image generators. The National AI Initiative Act signed into law in 2020, doesn’t tackle the advances in this technology and how it can jeopardize the workforce if not used responsibly. While the government is exploring how to deal with this fight in ethics and regulations, many aren’t sure how to proceed.
Given how fast AI grows and the discourse about its policies, there should be an intent to come up with regulations sooner rather than later. The government investing in programs for jobs less likely to be automated through initiatives like the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board can benefit the public, but it also provides the problem of those jobs getting oversaturated with applicants.
Conclusion:

Good uses for AI exist and this technology has been built to help our efficiency and overall ease the burden of menial tasks. We can’t discard AI from our lives, but we can find ways for it to benefit instead of detriment us. This can solely be achieved by the people using this technology thinking of it as an extra limb instead of a replacement for a person.
